New Attractions lined up for UAE

Ain Dubai

Meraas has announced the completion of a significant milestone in the construction of Ain Dubai, the world’s largest and tallest observation wheel. This is following successful installation of the fifth of eight 107-metre sections of its wheel rim. Once completed, Ain Dubai will become an iconic destination, offering visitors and residents a 360-degree-view of the city and its coastline.

At over 210 metres tall, Ain Dubai will eclipse the 167-metre High Roller in Las Vegas and the 190-metre New York Wheel planned for Staten Island. The 30-square-metre double-glazed capsules will accommodate 40 passengers. The capsules will have the flexibility to be converted into fine-dining destinations for up to 12 guests, while six Premium Capsules will also offer an upscale service with a licensed bar offering a unique new culinary experience. The capsules are expected to be installed in 2018.

The Dubai Frame

The new attraction is scheduled to open to the public in early 2018. The Frame measures 150 metres high and 93 metres wide, has two connected towers by a 100-square-metre bridge, which has a 25-square-metre glass panel in the middle. Plans also include a museum on the ground floor that will showcase Dubai’s transformation from a fishing village to metropolis. Developed at a cost of AED160 million, the frame is located in Zabeel Park, which will give visitors the best view of both old and new Dubai.

ICCA Congress

The emirates of Dubai is gearing up to host the 57th Congress of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), following the conclusion of this year’s edition in Prague. Dubai was named host city for the 57th ICCA Congress in 2014, following a successful bid for the event that was led by Dubai Business Events and Dubai World Trade Centre. The International Congress is slated to be held from 11 – 14 November 2018 at Dubai World Trade Centre. The event will witness participation from industry professionals from all over the world who will discuss key challenges and opportunities within the business events industry.

Jewel of the Creek

HLG is constructing a US$130 million project titled the “Jewel of the Creek” in Port Saeed, Dubai. When complete the multi-use development will showcase four and five star hotels, furnished service apartments, a convention centre, a ballroom, office buildings, residential buildings, a marina and landscaping. The project is scheduled to be completed in the first half of 2019.

Guggenheim Abu Dhabi

The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum is being built on Saadiyat Island and will promote the understanding and appreciation of contemporary art, architecture, and other manifestations of modern and contemporary visual culture from an international perspective. A curatorial programme with a transcultural perspective on art and visual culture from the 1960s to the present will have a strong focus on art from West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia, exploring the specific identity derived from cultural traditions of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The future museum, and its growing collection, is owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi. The museum will also feature a 350-seat theatre, education workshops and classrooms, an onsite conservation lab, as well as a retail store, cafes, and a restaurant.

Dubai Safari

The Dubai Safari has been designed in the form of an Arabian Safari, where the animals are distributed based on the geographical landform in the Arabian region across three different environments. There is also a Kids farm area which is one of the main educational and entertaining attractions in the park, which reflects the traditional characters of petting farms. It includes sheds and stables for different farm animals such as horses, sheep, goats, chickens, cows etc. The Asian Village gives the visitor the opportunity to enjoy watching animals in a special walk through experience. The Open Safari zone is a special experience where visitors are transferred between different immersive exhibits through air-conditioned Jeep cars, allowing visitors to enjoy close animal encounters. The African Village is one of the most important villages in the Park, in terms of size and different events. The village divided into two main areas; the African Savannah, and African Rainforest, where animals and plants are divided by regions. In this village, 20 different animals are being exhibited, along with huge Reptiles and Amphibians.

The Floating Venice

The Floating Venice launched by Kleindienst Group is the world’s first underwater luxury vessel resort.  Valued at AED2.5 billion (US$680 million), The Floating Venice will be located in The World islands and will bring an authentic Venetian experience to the Middle East. The floating resort will have a capacity of up to 3,000 guests daily, with accommodation, restaurants and recreation split over four decks, one of which is underwater. As per plans, guests will arrive by boat, seaplane or helicopter to the main Piazza San Marco where they can check-in at the underwater lobby.  Gondola’s imported from Venice will transport guests to their cabins through winding canals. There will be a range of 414 bespoke cabins arranged over four decks. The resort will also offer 24 pools, some of which will have acrylic bases giving views of the coral reefs below. Over 400,000 sq ft of corals will be planted around. Other facilities include 12 restaurants and bars, three of which are underwater and the world’s first floating underwater spa.  Construction is scheduled to begin in Q1 2018 with completion by Q4 2020.

Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai

The Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai is a new level in brand luxury hospitality collection. Situated on the exclusive Jumeira Bay, the resort is designed entirely by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the Italian architectural firm that has created all the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts. The complex boasts a Mediterranean village feel with six residential buildings offering 173 sea-facing apartments, 15 private mansions, and Bulgari’s first-ever Marina and Yacht Club. The resort comprises of 101 rooms and suites, as well as 20 Bulgari villas with pool, garden and sea-view, The Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai offers a full range of amenities, such as the gourmet Il Ristorante – Niko Romito, the Il Café open all day, Il Bar with its iconic oval-shaped Bulgari bar and La Spiaggia, the most exclusive beach Club with private beach and an outdoor swimming pool. The complex also comprises a private Marina featuring 50 boat berths and the first world’s Bulgari Yacht Club with views over the sea.
