Tour East: Building on a legacy

Tour East established in 1972, has witnessed steady growth over the years to attain a leading position in Asia. The company with over 500 tour specialists has seen an increase in tourist flow across first two-quarters of 2017. The interest specifically targeted towards Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.

With a keen focus on the Middle East market, Dennis Law, senior vice-president- sales and marketing (Asian and Middle East Market) is of the opinion that the Middle East is a high potential market for inbound into Asia Pacific. Travelers from this region are among the most lucrative and high-yield tourists due to their lavish spending habits. The results of the continued focus on this market have yielded the company a substantial growth of approximately 15%. “With a focus on active markets of Tour East mainly UAE along with Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain, we are expecting a growth of about 40-50% in comparison to last year,” added Law.

The company prides itself with its accreditation of local and international associations such as the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) and United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA).

Having well-established itself, Law feels that it is constant innovation and readiness to reinvent that sets them apart from competitors. In addition, the focus is also on riding on robust efficiencies of technology which is accompanied with responsive and seamless service to partners. The company also leverages its core markets to expand business offerings across Asia Pacific in partnership with JTB Global Marketing & Travel (JTB GMT).

Focusing on some new developments lined up, Law affirms, we will be focusing on the MICE segment, offering full hospitality arrangements, resourceful on-site management teams, special interest tours and companion programs, outdoor and indoor team building activities, creative themed events and extended programs to other Tour East destinations. In addition, the company will also be trying to create more awareness on the Indo-China regions with increased air connectivity.
